Memphis, TN USA This excellent apartment is small, cozy and warm, but its crowning glory is the view from the balcony - you look right out on to the 300m Staubbach Falls, with snow-capped peaks beyond - surely one of the most captivating sights in the world! We retired to it with a sundowner every evening after the day's hike. The apartment is located in a small block at the top end of the village. It's a 15 minute walk (half of which is uphill) from the train station, though there is a bus which connects with every train to drop you off just 50m away if you have heavy baggage. There is a short cut which takes you along a little path, but I wouldn't recommend it if you are dragging suitcases as it's steep and rough. The owners generously left us milk, wine, cakes and chocolate, which was very welcome, as the supermarket had closed by time we arrived (6.30pm and closed all day Sunday). The double bed is comfy and the kitchen was very well equipped. Show is nice and strong. The wifi is strong and fast & there's a TV with English channels. The washing machine in the basement was a godsend, but you'll need to bring/buy your own washing powder.
